One of the reasons the MSM wanted to destroy W so completely was Jeb. They did it to Bush I, but not as thoroughly as they could have done. Besides, I don't think Jeb would want his family dragged thru the mud. They dragged Palin thru the mud, but Palin was clean, so nothing stuck. But Jeb's family was known to have problems. I think the more likely case is for Jeb to groom George P.

If Obama loses, his rivals will have all the ammo they need to keep him out of the race next time. And they will use it. Gore was hated (for losing) until he turned even harder Left after 2000. Obama has nowhere to go. If he tries to run again, he will probably get about as much support as Al Sharpton. He'll suddenly become the Joe Biden or Dick Gephardt of Democratic politics.

But the Dems will have loads of belly-aching and blood-letting, if they lose next week. It's difficult to know who will rise and fall. It may come down to Hillary vs. Mark Warner, and I doubt if she wins that contest. Gore may try again, and Gavin Newsom may be the Obama of 2012 (although it will be much clearer that he will never win a national race). Maybe Chris Matthews and Olbermann will run.

Next time, Palin is our candidate I suspect -- I think she's even jumped Jeb in line. As for Obama, they won't go to that well again -- the Dems never do. It'll be yet another completely unvetted, completely new, completely unknown quantity that what's left of the MSM will yet again try to drag across the finish line. Because these people never learn.

I disagree and think Obama could well run again in '12 if he loses next week. It's been noted that many of his campaign offices are separate from the Democratic party. (Infiltrating the establishment, just like an Alinskyite, eh?) But it is true that his secrets will be coming out eventually, so that might make the difference.

If the Obama ship goes down I suspect that the bloodletting in the Democratic Party will be fierce. The hatred of GWB is so strong that Sen. Obama's failure will truly unleash internecine war in the Democrats.

If Sen. McCain loses, the blood letting will not be that bad, because the Republicans' internecine war is already on, and to a large part over. The Palinists and anti-Palinists are already fighting, and the anti-Palinists are not going to win. The Battle of the Pundits was the opening skirmish of the anti-Palinite's, and the Noonan's and Parker's have already lost*. Krauthammer already made his case and tossed the others to the side.

*They did not have the sense of the party, they did not have the sense of their voters. They had their druthers, but that does not translate into votes, and the reaction to Ms. Noonan's statements when she thought the microphone was off should have been a warning to the rest.

Jeb would be a powerful candidate come 2012, not sure if Palin could stand up to him. Jeb's family history wouldn't be enough to kill his nomination, no matter how vicious the illuminati MSM are.

If Palin runs for President in 2012, at least she has name recognition going for her... but, at this point, that may not work in her favor
